BDNet Corp is turning 20!
We were established in 1999 with a mission to provide IT management and support to organizations that don’t have the resources or budget to hire an in-house IT department. While the fast-paced world of technology has evolved over the years, BDNet Corp has remained steadfast in our goal of providing clients with next-generation IT solutions that address their unique challenges.
Twenty years after opening, BDNet Corp now employs roughly 15 business technology professionals and is looking toward future growth. “In the first few years, we didn’t put a lot of effort into growing the business,” Brian Domschke, CEO of BDNet Corp admits. “Now it’s just a nice clean machine moving in the direction of becoming a much larger force in the DC metro area.”
With more staff to handle the technical aspects of the business, Brian and COO Matt are focusing more on building client relationships. “We think relationships are the most important piece in life and business.”
Brian’s management style is similarly concentrated on relationships and a positive work environment for his team. “I’ve never been ‘The Boss’. My guys know I’m in charge, but I never had to tell anybody I’m in charge. Everybody knows their part in what needs to be done; I just give the direction because I’m the one interpreting it from the client.”
But as hardworking as they are, the BDNet Corp team takes a work hard-play hard approach. “For fun, we do things together outside the office, not just as employees, but as friends and colleagues. I have a house in the mountains where we often go for skiing and we do other activities of that nature.”
Brian’s advice to new team members, or anyone else starting out in their careers, mirrors his philosophy. “Enjoy what you’re doing and you’ll always be rich,” he advises. “I’ve enjoyed everything that I do, embrace who I am, and the money just comes. Find something that you enjoy. If you don’t, it’s not worth it."
Even in a highly technical field where precision, strict attention to detail, and long hours at work are commonplace, Brian Domschke has found a way to make it fun. Blending his passion for computers, his resourcefulness, and his natural ingenuity, he has carved out a place for himself and has ensured not only his own, but BDNet Corp’s continued success in the future.
